There are moments that a company is particularly proud of. Today, we get to celebrate one such moment: Our first apprentice has successfully completed his apprenticeship and will remain part of UhuruTec. Since July 13, 2026, Luis has been strengthening our team as a full-time software engineer.
From Intern to Full-Time Team Member
The story began back in the spring of 2022. While searching for like-minded individuals in the IT community, Matthias Haag and Luis first made contact through CCC Stuttgart, even before UhuruTec was founded. An email led to a face-to-face meeting, which ultimately resulted in an internship lasting several weeks.
There, Luis not only became familiar with the initial technologies and work processes but also got to know the people who were founding UhuruTec at that time. In the summer of 2023, he finally began his apprenticeship as an IT specialist for application development, which he has now successfully completed.
Computer Science with Purpose
What excites him about computer science is the opportunity to work on technologies that make people’s lives easier. It is precisely this idea that continues to motivate him to this day. Like many apprentices, he went through periods during his training when he questioned his career path. That makes it all the more rewarding that he stayed the course and can now say with conviction: It was the right decision!

He particularly appreciates the company’s family-like atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone else, decisions are made collaboratively, and new colleagues can quickly take on responsibility. He’s equally enthusiastic about the company’s technological focus. Open-source technologies, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and modern cloud infrastructures offer an exciting environment where he can learn and apply new things every day.
The Next Step
During his apprenticeship, he developed software for internal business processes. Now a new chapter begins: In the future, he’ll also actively collaborate on client projects and contribute his knowledge to our cloud and platform solutions. For his professional future, he hopes to continue working on technologies that create real added value.
