Proprietary virtualization vs. an open cloud platform.

The decisive difference is not a single feature. It is whether your organization controls licensing, architecture, roadmap and operational expertise.

Proprietary virtualization

Vendor-controlled licensing and subscription model

Proprietary solution with closed source and closed APIs

Reduced portability of established systems

The vendor roadmap dictates development

Cloud-native capabilities require an add-on product

System-specific expertise

Discuss your migration

Migration to UhuruTec.

We migrate in controlled stages. Expand each step to see how assessment, test run, migration and operations fit together.

01Inventory and prioritization

We identify all virtual machines, dependencies, criticality and suitable migration waves.

02Lift-and-shift test run

A selected cluster validates connectivity, performance, operating procedures and rollback paths before broad migration.

03Technology-driven OpenStack migration

Existing workloads move to the open IaaS layer in controlled waves with transparent checkpoints.

04Cloud-native modernization

Container-ready applications are moved to Kubernetes where this creates a clear operational or development advantage.

05Transition to operations

Documentation, monitoring, support paths and responsibilities are transferred into stable day-to-day operations.

Discuss your migration

No license fees. No subscription lock-in.

We needed a future-proof, stable cloud platform as an alternative to our previous virtualization solution. By migrating to uCloud, we were able to operate legacy systems reliably, implement applications cloud-natively and eliminate escalating license fees.

Questions before leaving VMware.

Can existing VMware workloads be migrated?

Yes. We first analyze dependencies and operating requirements, validate the migration with a representative test cluster, and then move suitable workloads to OpenStack in controlled waves.

Does everything have to be migrated at once?

No. The architecture supports phased migration. Existing environments can continue to run while workloads are prioritized and moved step by step.

Can legacy VMs and Kubernetes run together?

Yes. OpenStack provides the IaaS layer for virtual machines, while Kubernetes supports cloud-native applications. Both are operated as coordinated parts of the same platform.

Where can the platform be operated?

In your own data center, at a selected data-center provider, or as a managed service. The platform remains open, portable and hardware-agnostic.

How do costs become predictable?

There are no proprietary platform license fees. Architecture, operation and support are scoped transparently, while automation and self-service reduce recurring operating effort.
